Marc Jonin, aka Marki
Marc Jonin, also known as Marki in the world of football freestyle, is 30 years old. Originally from the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland, where he grew up, he now lives in Bern, at the heart of the Swiss capital.
Football freestyle has been part of his life for 14 years. What started as a passion became a sport, then an art, and eventually his profession.
Over the years, this passion has taken him all across Switzerland, throughout Europe and beyond. In 2025 alone, Marc performed more than 75 shows in Switzerland, France, Germany and as far as Kuwait.
Among all these experiences, one will always stand apart: his tour with Circus Knie, a true Swiss institution. A full season and 320 performances with Switzerland’s largest circus – an experience that still feels almost unreal to him.
The stage, but also the competition.
Because behind the performer, there has always been a competitor.
Marc is a four-time Swiss Football Freestyle Champion (2019, 2021, 2024 and 2025) and has regularly represented Switzerland on the international stage since 2019. He has notably competed in three editions of Red Bull Street Style, bringing together some of the world’s best freestylers.
After several years competing among the best, he reached a new milestone in 2026 by making it to the quarter-finals of the World Championships, earning his place among the Top 8 in the world.
And he has no intention of stopping there.
And when the ball stops rolling?
Marc is also passionate about chess ♟️ – around 1600 Elo, for those in the know – while traditional football played a major role throughout his youth. He played for nearly 15 years, mainly as a centre-back, before freestyle eventually took over.
His journey, however, has never been shaped by sport alone. In 2019, Marc earned a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Sciences in the canton of Valais before going on to work in marketing for more than four years.
That experience still plays an important role in his career today: behind every performance lies a great deal of work in creation, communication and developing his activity as an independent artist.
Then came the moment to make a choice: to become fully self-employed and take the leap towards making a living entirely from his passion.
And so far, the journey has been more than worth it.

A passion turned into a journey
Marc started playing football at the age of six. For more than a decade, the sport shaped his daily life. He played competitively until the age of 17 and was selected for the Fribourg regional teams, where he competed up to U16 level.
At 13, he discovered football freestyle. At first, it was mostly out of curiosity: a few juggling tricks, new moves and countless attempts… But between training sessions and matches, traditional football still left him little time to fully explore this new discipline.
At 17, Marc eventually decided to leave traditional football behind and dedicate himself seriously to freestyle. He found exactly what he was looking for: freedom, creativity and the opportunity to develop his own style. It became a passion that would never leave him.
In 2018, he joined Urban Level, the Swiss football freestyle team, and took his first steps onto the international scene by competing at the European Championships in Berlin.
2019 — The first major results
2019 marked a real turning point. In his first appearance at the Superball World Open in Prague, the world’s largest open football freestyle competition, Marc reached the Top 64 in the world.
A few weeks later, he won his first Swiss Championship title, earning the opportunity to represent Switzerland at the Red Bull Street Style World Final in Miami.
2021 — A place among the world’s elite
Two years later, Marc won his second Swiss Championship title.
Just a few days after this achievement, another major goal became reality: out of nearly 2,500 participants, he qualified for the Top 16 in the world at Red Bull Street Style in Valencia.
2022–2023 — The setback and the comeback
In 2022, shoulder surgery abruptly interrupted his progress. Several months away from training and being unable to compete at both the World Championships and Swiss Championships forced Marc to put his journey on hold.
But it was far from over.
In 2023, Marc returned to the highest level and once again earned a place among the Top 16 freestylers in the world, this time at the Superball World Open.
2024 — 320 shows and a third Swiss title
In 2024, Marc’s career took on a new dimension, away from battles and competitions.
He joined the legendary Circus Knie for its entire Swiss tour. His first experience in the world of circus resulted in 320 performances in a single season, giving him the opportunity to further develop his stage presence and experience as a performer.
That same year, Marc returned to competition and claimed his third Swiss Championship title.
2025–2026 — From a fourth Swiss title to the World Top 8
In 2025, Marc confirmed his consistency at the highest national level by winning his fourth Swiss Championship title.
Then came 2026 and one of the biggest achievements of his competitive career. At the Superball World Open, where the international elite of football freestyle gathers every year, Marc reached the quarter-finals and broke into the Top 8 in the world for the first time.
A major milestone after more than a decade dedicated to his discipline.
From competition to the stage
Over the years, Marc has turned his passion into a profession.
His experience has taken him to numerous events across Switzerland and internationally, working with renowned institutions, organisations and brands such as UEFA, Swiss Olympic, the Olympic Museum and Swisscom.
He has also performed at events involving several major Swiss football clubs, including FC Sion, Servette FC and BSC Young Boys, among many other projects.
From international competitions to major event stages, the driving force has always remained the same: to make football freestyle more than just a technical performance and share with audiences the passion that has inspired him from the very beginning.
